Who We Are
Varadigara is an independent Kannada-language news publication founded to bring honest, carefully reported journalism to Kannada-speaking readers across Karnataka and the Kannada diaspora worldwide. We are not affiliated with any political party, religious organisation, corporation, or government body.
Our name — ವರದಿಗಾರ, meaning “the reporter” – reflects our singular commitment: to report what is true, even when it is inconvenient.
Editorial Independence
Every editorial decision at Varadigara – what stories to cover, how to frame them, whom to quote, and what conclusions to draw – is made independently by our editorial team.
No political party or politician has the ability to direct, delay, or suppress our reporting.
Advertisers have no influence over our coverage. An organisation that advertises with us receives no favourable treatment in our reporting, and no unfavourable treatment if they choose not to advertise.
Our team makes all editorial decisions independently – no outside party has veto power over any story.
How We Report
We verify claims through at least two sources before publishing. When we cover allegations against individuals or organisations, we give them a chance to respond. We identify our sources where possible and explain when we cannot.
Corrections
We correct mistakes promptly. Corrections are published on the original article with a clear correction notice at the top of the story. If you find an error in our reporting, email us at contact@varadigara.com and we will review it.
Advertising and Editorial Separation
Varadigara accepts paid advertising. Sponsored content and advertising are clearly labelled and visually distinct from editorial content. We do not accept advertising from organisations whose activities we believe to be harmful or illegal. Advertisers do not influence our editorial decisions.
